  • The Hellcat differs from the typical rounded shape found in the majority of the aviators out there. The squared shape of the Hellcat is distinct and fits a wide range of face shapes. As with all of Ryders' metal frames, the Hellcat features adjustable nose pads and extra-durable spring hinges.

    POLARIZED TECHNOLOGY: ELIMINATE GLARE AND INCREASE DEFINITION

    Where there is light there is always glare. It’s caused when light hits a surface, becomes concentrated, then reflects into your eyes. Polarized lenses eliminate glare from horizontal surfaces [roads, water, ice, snow, etc.] allowing details to show through, drastically reducing eye strain.

    Ryders' Polarized lenses are made using an injection process that ensures they’re optically correct, decreasing eye fatigue and increasing comfort. As with all of Ryders' lenses, RYDERS Polarized lenses provide protection against 100% UVA, UVB, UVC and harmful blue light to 400nm.

  • 100% UV400 Protection: All of Ryders' lenses block 100% of UVA, UVB, and UVC rays and harmful, high energy light to 400nm. These rays are a leading cause of cataracts, skin cancer and wrinkles around the eyes—all great reasons to block them out.

    Hydrophobic + Oleophobic Coating: An altogether misleading name, this coating isn't nearly as scared of water as water is of the coating. In fact, water runs away at first contact, leaving clear lines of sight that are free from droplets and water marks. The Oleophobic characteristics repel dirt and grease, making the lenses very easy to clean.

    Impact Resistant:
    All of Ryders' lenses are impact resistant, meaning they resist breaking up into dangerous little shards when impacted. If astronauts trust this material to keep their heads from exploding while on a 17,000 mph space walk, you’ll have nothing to worry about on your adventures, no matter how fast you’re going.

    Optically Correct: All of Ryders' lenses are made by injecting molten polycarbonate into a mold that is specially formed to eliminate distortion. This process makes the lenses optically correct (also referred to as decentred), increasing long-term comfort and minimizing eye fatigue.

    Scratch-Resistant Coating: Ryders applys a scratch-resistant coating to all of their lenses. Though this process makes the surface of the lens considerably harder than the base lens material, it’s impossible to make the lenses completely scratch proof (short of making them from diamonds) so please care for them properly as they may still scratch under certain conditions.

  • Adjustable Nose Pads: Adjustable nose pads allow you to customize the fit of your eyewear for comfort and stability. This component is also used for fine-tuning the amount of airflow behind the lens to keep your face cool and combat fogging.

    N/S18 Metal: Standing for 18% Nickel-Silver, N/S18 is the lightweight, durable and extremely corrosion-resistant alloy used for all of Ryders' metal frames. A combination of nickel, zinc and copper, N/S18 gets its high strength from the high concentration of nickel. As a precaution for those who may be sensitive to some metals, we apply a hypoallergenic polymer coating to all of our metal frames.
