A comfortable Wanigan harness with shoulder straps, back pad and the obligatory tumpline. This harness makes carrying box shaped items like wooden or plastic wanigans and coolers easier. Two horizontal sections of 1 inch webbing along with two vertical sections of webbing encircle your wanigan or cooler securely through slip lock and tension lock buckles and daisy chain. The harness has four (4) built-in handles to make lifting/carrying easier as well as getting it in and out of your canoe. The vertical webbing sections have quick release buckles so you can get access into the wanigan/cooler fast and close it up, just as rapidly. Additionally, the vertical straps work to keep the lid closed and secured on your wanigan/cooler.
The most common way to portage a wanigan is by a tumpline. This harness includes the Super Tump, a wide and comfortable tumpline, as well as a unique foam back pad to bring comfort between your back and the hard side of the wanigan/cooler. Part of the Heritage line of packs the Coureur 2-Part Canoe Pack (104L) has two rectangular shaped sections (52L each) that connect together by quick release buckles for portaging and then separate again just as fast. This pack is a great solution for solo paddlers who want to split their load to balance the canoe. This pack includes modular shoulder straps that can also be quickly attached when it’s time to portage.
The Coureur 2-Part Canoe Pack comes with the Modular Shoulder Straps. Add the optional Tumpline or Super Tump for whatever suites your portaging style best. Also great as a sled/toboggan bag in winter.
This updated version of a classic boasts hard wearing 1000 Denier Nylon, and 2-inch webbing that runs down both sides and along the bottom of the pack to secure the load to a tumpline. Each section of the pack has quick release buckles on a the lid to close over an expandable drawstring attic to keep your gear contained. Also, under the lid are 2 yellow compression straps. The foam back back pad is a welcome nod to comfort along with the functionality of 3 hi-viz grab handles on each section (6 handles in total) to get this pack in and out of the canoe or around camp.
